Spots on Adonis?

Post by Susie »

Is this an Adonis Blue male? I don't think I have seen one with spots before.

Looks like a male Adonis Blue to me - although the spots do look particularly prominent!

Cheers,

Hi Susie,

I don't know about Adonis blues in the UK, but here in Switzerland they vary continuously from no spots at all to very prominent spots, with spotless ones probably about the same frequency as spotty ones.

I'm not saying I have never seen spots on them before but I cant see any others amongst my photos and this is certainly the first time I have noticed it :)
