JKT, I seem to remember you (I think it was you) saying the same thing about P. daplidice and P. edusa - another pair separated on a technicality. Does your source count simplonia as a discrete species? This last is consistently different in appearance from the other two, and is for the most part altitudinally isolated from them.

For his mapping project, Kudrna treated simplonia, ausonia and crameri as an aggregate.

Oh boy, I really shouldn't rely on memory. That was the pair of species, not this. The only (weak) excuse is I'm still recuperating from a rather different Madeira trip.

Pete Eeles wrote:Thanks Charles. Of these, only the Purple Emperor shot would be relevant to UK Butterflies. Any chance of uploading it to YouTube? I made an assumption that YouTube would be the best video hosting mechanism - what do you think (at least it has a API that allows me to programmatically query items)?

Cheers,

i will have a go at transferring it to YouTube

Leave it with me for now - I may have a cunning plan to allow members to upload their videos to their site of choice :) See viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3963&p=30716#p30716 - although only YouTube will play on an iPhone/iPod.

Cheers,

All done now. Your "Blip TV" video is now shown on the Purple Emperor page along with the YouTube videos. This can be extended to support most providers so let me know if you want to nominate a video from anywhere else!
