These were taken in the Bergerac area of France in 2005.... I could do with some expert help in ID's if anyone has the inclination....
1) unknown presumably noctuid...
2) Very Small Emerald...
3) Green Silver-lines??...
4) Seems slightly different to our Merveille du Jour..
5) another quite large Emerald...
6) no idea!!...
Hi Paul. Nice moths. I can do the first five.
1. Coronet Craniophora ligustri.
2. Phaiogramma etruscaria.
3. Scarce Silver-lines Bena bicolorana.
4. Marbled Green Cryphia muralis.
5. Sussex Emerald Thalera fimbrialis.
The sixth one has me stumped. At first I thought it looked like a relative of the Vapourer with those antennae, but can find nothing like it. I'll get back to you if I have any inspiration later.
the last one has stumped me also, but the nearest i can come up with is a very worn male gypsy moth or aberration of one, if they have aberrations?
gary.
Thank you all very much indeed.. I really do appreciate your help and cannot believe the depth of knowledge the combined brains using this site can produce so quickly!!!
