Confirm identification by beginner

Post by Anthony »

Hi All,

Here are 4 butterflies that I hope I have correctly identified - 2 Common blues and 2 small skippers. My son will make a presentation to his class when he returns to school so I want to ensure I have got them right - I only started trying to identify butterflies this weekend...

If I have got them wrong can you give me some pointers on what you look for to identify these species correctly.

Thanks

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Your IDs are all correct. The only one that isn't conclusive is the last - this may be an Essex Skipper.

Cheers,
