Hi Denise,

Thank you for posting your link and I am happy for you that you managed to see so many butterflies in one week and had an excellent time!
I have one question: how did you manage to identify Assmann's fritillary / Nickerl's from Heath fritillary or even false Heath fritillary? I've had a lot of problem with identifying my photos taken last year in Slovakia and I would be interested to know how you managed it.

Hi Sylvie,

I can't take the credit for the ID's. Our excellent guides netted them and showed us the differences between the very similarly marked species.
It was easy in the net, but a damn sight more difficult with so many butterflies flying together.
I suggest that you post some pics on the ID page and let Guy help you sort through them.

I know that this is a rubbish photo, but I think (looking at Lafranchis) that this one might actually be a False Heath.

Anyone agree or know what it is?

I did wonder how you managed so well Denise.

I've found that not only can't I identify what I've taken but I don't actually know whether to take the shot in the first place - is it a Brimstone or a Cardinal???

Still it's great fun and makes for a really worhwhile holiday. Well done
