It was nice to meet you and Denise again, and everyone else for that matter. Didn't get much time to speak to you either :( , the day seemed to whizz by.
You should have come to the pub after :)
I'm sorry that we didn't get the chance to chat too Lisa. We didn't know about the pub :( I would have happily stayed over to get another day in the field today as your area is the bee's! Perhaps soon? Love your Duke. :D

Looking a bit lost, a baby Blackbird, his Mother knew exactly where he was and I took one photo and moved very quickly to put Sooty inside the house.

He was an idiot too, he fell over five mins later and broke his lens!
Ouch! Hope it wasn't too expensive to fix.

Talking of idiots, several of our group were practicing our stalking skills on a speckled wood at Bentley Wood on Saturday. I was fiddling with the hood on my new zoom lens. The hood suddenly took on a life of its own, sprang from my grasp and landed right behind the butterfly sending it into the air. I gave a most ungentlemanly expletive, but fortunately the rest didn't seem too upset. Thankfully I didn't repeat the manoeuvre when everyone began chasing PBF.

Nice capture, Shirley.

Nice pics Sezar! I am wondering what the black bird is in the bottom shot. I have seen something like it before, but can't find exactly what it is.

First time ever that I have seen this Redpoll and the big lens was just the ticket. Taken with Sony A100 with 500mm reflex f8.

Sorry for delay but tecknical problems at mid atlantic, satellites frequently out of touch. The Balck bird at the bottom I belive is a Greater Antillian Grackle male in some Caarribian islandsa are also known as Carib grackle. Equivalent of our black bird.

I can see how it is similar to our blackbird, but I was thinking more crow like or chough (in looks).

Size is of a blackbird. But I do agree looks more like chough.

has a lot of details.

Whilst the butterflies are drying out, the big lens has come in useful again with this juvenile Robin, he didn't choke on the seed by the way.

Shirley, nice pics of the feeding. Hope you don't mind, but I made an animated gif of the feeding, came out well too!

I just thought with three shots like you have it could be done. I can do more if anyone ever wants me to.

Managed to get a shot of a male Stonechat at Martin Down today. Very timid - this was taken with my 150mm macro :)

Cheers,
