Sounds good to me. I'll definitely come along if I'm available! I suggest you name a date Susie :)

Cheers,

Hi Susie,
Count the Kipper in (assuming I'm not leading an outing somewhere).

Grand :D This sounds as if it could actually happen. I will see if I can sort out a date and then I will post a thread on it.

I could certainly do with your help on this Kipper if you can make it and it would be smashing to meet up with Pete, Robin and Pat again.

Well it's been 3 months since I started this thread and i'm leaving Merseyside for Denbies tomorrow morning (thanks for the advice Susie) about 4/5 hour drive. I'm really looking foreward to it as I never get to that part of this wonderful country. I notice Susie has organised a trip later in August ... have a great time. I was not sure where exactly to go when I get there but looking at where your meeting in August at TQ 141 503 I will start there.
Thanks also to Gruditch for a list of alternative sites.

When you park up you will see the gate in the hedge which will take you through to the top field which is called "Steer's field". There should be some good stuff in this top field but if you have a wander around and eventually go towards the bottom right hand corner you will see another gate which will take you to a second field. The path here runs along to the right at various levels in the hillside. This is far the better area. It is great for orchids too at the moment.

You may be a bit between broods at the moment but when I was there last week there were a few adonis and common blues hanging on and my first fresh marbled white amongst other butterflies. There is always something to see at this site.

It looks as if the weather should be pretty good so I wish you a wonderful holiday and look forward to hearing what you found when you return.

Edit: Oops! Just seen the date of your post so you have probably been and gone by now.
