Childrens Gardening

Post by Gigi The Butterfly »

Hi Everyone

My name is Kathy & I run a children’s gardening & environmental website http://www.danthegardener.co.uk/
We are going to be linking to you soon as our May newsletter is going to be focusing on Butterflies.

One of our children’s characters is Gigi The Butterfly as you will see. So if any of you have children please let them have a look around. Our club is free for them to join as well.

Also if anyone has any ideas especially Butterfly friendly plants I would love to hear. So glad I have found this site it is great.

Thanks

Kathy

I always think nasturiums are good for getting kids started. Nice big seeds which are easy to grow, non-toxic (in fact you can even eat them - the flowers taste peppery), and you can just about guarantee getting white butterflies laying eggs on them.

I would like my great nephew to join, he loves gardening and helping his Dad. I am going to buy him easy seeds to grow which will attract butterflies and hope he'll grow up and love all things in the wild starting with butterflies, his name is Oliver, he's nearly 2, he talks mostly double dutch, he's interests are searching the garden and getting into trouble by removing what has just been planted and dropping it somewhere else. :D

Hi Shirley

Anyone can join, we have lots of adults who join on behalf of their children plus Teachers on behalf of their Schools, so if you want to sign up for the newsletter please do.

Our May Newsletter is going to be based on butterflies thanks to Pete.
