Hi
My appologies if this question has been asked a lot before.
My wife say's it's time to book her holiday's from work.
Is there a printable table of all species of butterfly I might expect to see in the UK. But also with their flight times, so I can see at a glance the best times to book holiday's. So that I can target species. Thanks.

You actually have just what you are looking for on THIS site CJS...

Click on the UK butterflies logo at the top of this page to go back to the UK butterflies homepage, then click on the "Species" section shown along the menu bar. Flight Times are available there... click on the appropriate table and it will expand to show every species found in the UK (and even different populations of the same species which may be on the wing at slightly different times depending on their location).
Check where the species you are interested in is found and then book your holiday there before all the accommodation in the area is snapped up by other butterfly enthusiasts It works for me

Hi Pete I dont know if you can help but when I print the graph it completes at "Mountain Ringlet" (using the earliest flight times) and does not print the whole graph. It would be helpful if it was possible to print the full graph.
I also found this when I tried to print from the Taxonomy.

Hi cjs,

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately - the images are what they are - images. As such, they may not "fit" on (say) an A4 print (although I don't know why your printer doesn't print across multiple pages!).

As a workaround (and get some flexibility), you should be able to copy the image (right-click and select "Copy") and then paste it into a graphical editing program. You can then choose options to either "fit to 1 page" or to print across pages.

Pete Thanks for your reply thats very kind of you. Unfortunately copy and paste does not work either. I have no understanding why my printer does not print across multiple pages on this graph, as it does at other times. Have you tried it yourself ?

Yeah - I've been playing around with printing in "landscape" mode too. "Printing from a browser" (based on my minimal research across different browsers) seems to be an art unto itself.

So - glad you've found a solution - but not quite sure what to do with the website as a whole. Given that many of the charts are generated, I think I might look into generating (for example) a PDF as well as a GIF.

I'll add to the ever-increasing list of enhancements

Anyway - thanks for the feedback. It's always good to hear if the website is behaving itself (positively or negatively!).
