Lycaenid catty

Post by Paul »

Just noticed the catty in this STB frame... would be really impressed if anyone could identify it. :D ( to the left of the butterfly, taken on 240708)

My guess is one of the bindweed feeding plume moths, perhaps Pterophorus pentadactyla or Emmelina monodactyla, but since its overseas there may be other possibilities.

My Swiss book does not list bindweed as the host plant of any Swiss butterflies.

OK... suspect it is a moth then... thanks for your opinions... never saw it at all when I took the photo!

Thanks Guy... it doesn't bear close scrutiny however.. the butterfly was perfect, but my focus was slightly "off" in all the resultant photos.. :x
