New plant for the wish list.

Post by Susie »

Dear Father Christmas,

I have been a very good girl this year and would like to have a Abelia chinensis or grandiflora please (the former is supposed to be better for butterflies but the latter has a better form and is suppose to be good for bumblebees - what a choice!).

Well I got my grandiflora, Hopley, (Chinensis will be arriving once the weather warms up and it can be planted into the garden for the butterflies) and it is going into a large pot with Daphne odora, buddleia flowerpower, a heather and a load of allium bulbs. It will sit in a very sunny spot on the patio and should be fragrant and attract lots of flying things thoughout the year. :D

And now I have the chinensis. Roll on summer so I can see if it is as successful for butterflies as I hope. :D
