White & cream coloured (Apparently favoured) "Landing Pads" Specifically Red Admirals

Post by PhilBJohnson »

White or cream coloured (Apparently preferable) May/June Landing Pads for UK Red Admiral Migrants after Long Distance Flights
Philip was right about something:
In lower lit conditions (possibly woodland) or less light weather conditions (Late afternoon cloud, after sunny lunchtime) specifically, the territorial males, holding a temporary territory, flying up to intercept, possibly another Red Admiral, might be able to use (being an overall dark butterfly) a little bit more light from a white, reflected lit surface (slightly brighter). for a Red Admiral alighting on or nearby, social silence was in preference to aid focus of no movement, or minimal movement (I had the science).

In no particular Order:

Fragrance, Health & Safety & Legality
"Before someone arrives with their flowery white bra in a woodland, to show how it attracts butterflies, there was some simple health and safety advice regarding no lone working with selfie and seasonal timing relating to biting insects and wearing insect repellant, might not have been attractive to Red Admiral Butterflies. Check Common Laws and abide by them, before attracting the wrong people there.

4. "White icon", Family Trail near to a "Master tree" at a Bookham Commons high point.
The Purple Something arrow, definitely appeared to be pointing up! At this point I would like to apologise for showing this picture so much on UKB, but I thought that I had a specifically different point to clarify with it. To protect secrecy of that location, please don't make that complaint.

Since 2014, a Bookham Commons Ranger's team, I thought had done much work near there.
