Frit Quiz - take 2

Post by Pete Eeles »

First post failed - so trying again! ...

I'm currently updating the main species pages and always end up with a few photos that can't be classified! For a bit of fun, here's a photo taken by Mark Pike of 2 fritillaries. Location and date deliberately omitted. But what species are they?

I have the answer, but thought you might want to take a stab first :)

Cheers,

- Pete

Hmmm. Not sure what happened there - my pic got zapped!

Should be back to the original pic now!

Here's a clue: They're not the same species :)

But which is which?

What a remarkable photograph. I'm going for pearl bordered (right) and small pearl bordered.

Sorry, got that wrong! I reckon the pearl bordered is the one on the left.

Correct! Pearl-bordered on the left and Small Pearl-bordered on the right.

Well done!

Great specimens too!
