The purpose of our trip to Cahors was to visit Château Cedre a Château we had previously visited, this time for my 83rd birthday gift “because I’am worth it ” for one of Cahors great wines, mission accomplished the following day a visit to a site discovered by chance a few years back hoping to find Silver- spotted Skippers, this year I drew a blank, but all was not lost and several other interesting species were seen, can someone help with an ID please.
I remember in a previous post David M commented on his taste for the wine of Cahors so David may I suggest you follow my example, when next you have a special day to celebrate visit Cahors a it’s a splendid little town.

Je te comprends très bien, Jim. :)

Cahors wines are both potent and earthy. I love the reds from that region.

The butterflies aren't bad either. I was there in September 2022 and saw Southern White Admiral, Berger's Clouded Yellow and Great Banded Grayling well within the city limits. The city sits in a bowl of limestone, which looked promising for butterflies and that I wanted to explore, but did not have the time.
