Katrina
Re: Katrina
Good to see you today and thanks for the tour of the tiny site . Might have to wait a while for my pics to appear, there's a lot to trawl through
Some addictions are good for the soul!
Re: Katrina
It was so good to see your shots of the roosting Dingy Skippers Katrina. This, and the Grizzlies, are another couple of Species I have spent time searching for in recent days but no joy yet.
Re: Katrina
Lovely Greenstreaks Katrina and that Duke shot...well you know I'm a sucker for the 'stained glass window' shot

Re: Katrina
Thanks Pauline,
Sussex butterflies are quite behind this year due to the poor weather. I think I was lucky to find them as it seems like the first ones had just come out that afternoon.
Thanks Wurzel, it would have been better if they came up off the ground a bit but you take what you can get on that front,

Devils Dyke
A short trip to Devils Dyke this afternoon. It was remarkably windy. I saw a fresh Red Admiral - my first of the year I think. Peacocks. Brimstones, one Green Hairstreak and a Grizzled Skipper. Also seen were goldfinches and 2 ravens
Re: Katrina
Plenty of good stuff in your recent outings, Katrina. That last Grizzled Skipper is particularly lovely.
Re: Katrina

Sussex Sweep
Thank you David and Wurzel, Grizzlies are one of my favourites.
My sister was visiting for the day and wanted to go butterflying for the whole day. I didn't need asking twice.
We visited Pulborough Brooks, Kithurst, Rewell Wood and Mill Hill yesterday.
At Pulborough no butterflies were seen but we did spot a scone and coffee. My sister spotted lots of blue beetles which turned out to be Alder Leaf Beetles.
At Kithurst we were lucky someone had found a DoB in the gloom and shared it with us. My sister spotted a Green Carpet Moth and a Vernal Shieldbug.
At Rewell/ Fairmile Bottom we saw a Painted Lady, Small Copper, Orange-Tips, Brimstones, Holly Blues, Peacocks, Read Admirals and a PBF flew into our cameras field of view while we were photographing a Small Copper.
We stopped at Mill Hill I was hoping for Grizzled Skippers as they have now been seen. i didn't find any but there were plenty of Dingy Skippers, 2 Walls, Peacocks and my first Common Blue of the year.

Re: Katrina
Sounds like a great day out, and images to match! Really like your Pearl and Dingy shots.
Fingers crossed for a good Pearl emergence this year.

Re: Katrina
That sounds like a brilliant family trip Katrina- I don't know what I'm more envious of - the butterflies that you saw or a sibling suggesting an all day trip

Re: Katrina
That's quite a variety of butterflies, Katrina.
You must have been especially delighted with that passing PBF.

Re: Katrina
Thanks Wurzel - I am lucky my sister is interested in butterflies.
Thanks David, we were. Were were - we had given up on them appearing and were slowly heading back at that point.

Re: Katrina
I had three ambitions yesterday, a mating pair, a female PBF, and closed wing.
I achieved none of them, so your shot earns .
Trevor.
