Butterflies of Malaga

Post by kevling »

Dear UKB Friends,

I am considering a trip to Malaga in the spring and would be very grateful for any suggested sites/areas that I should visit as well as optimum time to travel (given that we cannot predict the weather).
Amongst my target species would be Spanish Festoon, Desert Orange Tip and Monarch. But I'm sure there will be many species new to me, as I have never visited the areas before.

Any help and advice is very much appreciated.

Kind Regards
Kev Ling

Might find this a useful starting point. Very handy to download to your phone so you don't need an Internet connection too

I have plenty of information regarding this area in spring having done a recce there last April. Are you going to have a vehicle and if so are you happy to travel a couple of hours to get to certain locations where the specialities of the region are most likely to be seen?

Feel free to PM me should you wish, Kev.
