Our first male emerged at Hutchinsons Bank today, probably the first UK mainland sighting this year.

Snap, Lovely day at Hutchinsons Bank in the cutting, the first female Glanville Fritillary emerged, the photos clearly show the differences between the sexes.

Is the population at Wrecclesham likely to be on the wing yet? This looks like it would be a good weekend to catch up with it.

I don't know how accessible the site is these days - I'm sure I remember reading the perimeter fencing had been beefed up last year. Does anyone know what the latest state of play here is?

I think the Wrecclesham population is behind a strong fence now, people were removed from the site in 2019. I managed to see Glanvilles at several sites last year 4 in Surrey and 1 in Kent, none of these were Wrecclesham or IOW.
