Party September at Jack's

Post by Jack Harrison »

I have met some good people in the field over this summer and at the suggestion of my wife Suzie, we think it would be a nice idea to hold a little party here. September is the obvious time after the main season is over but before it gets too cold.

It would be an afternoon do, hopefully the weather permitting it to be outside in the garden, but the house is big enough in event of poor weather. Location to south of Cambridge, so reasonably central. TL4239 (that's the 10 km square). Village location, ample parking.

Saturday 20 September.

We (or more correctly, Suzie) would make the buffet food but you would be asked to bring the booze. Spouses/partners welcome and children although probably not suitable for kids below teenage. Sorry, no dogs (we have cats). And as the Harrisons are non-smokers, if you have to, then you can do so outside and look very sheepish

If anyone wouldn't want to drive home afterwards and would prefer to stay overnight, the garden is big enough for a few tents. Access to downstairs shower and two downstairs loos.

Sounds like good fun! I will put it in my diary and look forward to meeting my fellow butterfly enthusiasts - if that is the right word to describe us!

Jack
You can count me in, and my better half, Rosemarie.
Long weekend with a party Saturday, and then Sunday and Monday birding in Norfolk/Suffolk - lovely.

What a great idea!

I would have loved to have come, and so would my long-suffering wife Ann who spends too many hours out in some remote wilderness or other, but we're not back in the UK until mid-October.

Surely Martin will cater for himself in the fish department, judging by his Lemon shark!?
Cancel that first tin too!

Jack,

Count me in too.

Let's hope we'll be looking back on a butterfly season that finished well!

Hi Jack - I forgot to thank you for the kind invitation!

Right now I'm unable to make it due to other commitments. If that changes, I'll let you know.

Cheers,

- Pete

The planned party at Jack's afternoon of 20th September has inevitably lost a few people, so it is important that we know how many to cater for.

So would those who had said that they will be coming please confirm to me ASAP still yes or maybe no. Plus of course, any others still welcome but we do need to know for planning.

I will then send precise location to those who are coming.

Me too! Though Erja will be away, so I'm foot-loose and fancy-free!
(And all on my own :( )

PS Spare room in Cambridge for those who don't fancy a tent at Jack's...

So many drop-outs that it has had to be cancelled. Seemed a good idea at the time.

Roger - sent you a private message about this.
