Poplar hawk or Eyed hawk larva?

Post by Deano »

Hello all
I found the larva in my attached photo on willow a few days ago. Please could someone tell me if it is a Poplar hawk as I suspect, or possibly an Eyed hawk, as in all the photos I've checked so far, the two look extremely similar!
Many thanks for your help.
Regards
Deano

Hi Deano,

I think that it's Poplar. See http://ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=429
