Thanks for sharing, Vince. A nice video.
It did not look to me, like a collaborative, cross National attempt, to film multiple, progressive life cycles.
Very good and patiently obtained video footage of females ovipositing.

It did not look like much (or any) of this life cycle was located in the UK, but it was nice to see, what looked like European, native “English Lavender” (that was not native to England).

 Still image, but i did not see video clip of butterflies mating.



Regarding pupation:

“The butterfly appears between 7 & 17 days, depending on the month of emergence, lattitude and weather conditions”

might have read;

“A butterfly emerged from pupa, after 7 -17 days in pupation, mostly depending on temperature & micro-climatic light conditions, influenced by month of emergence, lattitude” and weather conditions”


What someone might learn:
Polyphagous meant something like:
"able to feed on various kinds of food"
