"Me too - though we need to change the title of the thread!"

Isn't it odd how Lee and I responded and we both (possibly I can't speak for Lee, only myself) hadn't noticed?  I like living in the past...

Definitely up for this again - but is the date nailed on? Shame if Pete can’t make it....

Hi Benjamin - it’s always the last Saturday in November by convention and I knew there was going to be a clash with the Suffolk BC AGM. At least I’ll get to meet up with a certain Guy Padfield! However, I hope to catch up with UKB members at one of the following, where I’ll be plugging a certain book :)

12th October - AES Exhibition
19th October - Wiltshire BC AGM / members’ day
16th November - BC National AGM / members’ day (in Worcestershire)
23rd November - Sussex BC AGM / members’ day
30th November - Suffolk BC AGM / members’ day

My challenge is to ensure that the 4 presentations (at the BC events) are somewhat different, should anyone attend more than one event, especially since the core material was presented at the Hants & IOW BC AGM last year!

Cheers,

- Pete

I drove passed The Forge yesterday and was surprised to see it completely encased in scaffolding. It did not look very enticing, but there is a sign which assures that it is still open for business.
I hope to be there again this year and look forward to an enjoyable afternoon :D

Just had a quick look at the Old Forge's website "CLOSED FOR REFURB" it said. My heart sank for a second but then read "reopens 30th November" Phew!

see you all next week :D

This year's event on 30th November was attended by a relatively small hardcore of stalwarts, and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent in excellent company.

A summer gathering for June 2020 was proposed, with the suggested venue being the pub adjacent to Daneway Banks in Gloucestershire - providing entertainment whether the sun is shining or the rain pours down. Wider views on the idea will be sought nearer the time.

Cheers,

Dave

Sorry I could not make it. Disappointingly, a few things came up last minute :( . I feel a bit of a let down being the one that lives the closest. I will be there next year :D

A great day out as always ... although you might not think so from all the serious faces  . I promise that Brexit wasn’t even mentioned :P .

A summer meet at the Daneway Inn sounds a great proposition :)

I was planning to come but unfortunately something family-related happened at the last minute :-(

I am often busy on the last Saturday in November - it's quite close to Christmas - I wonder if an earlier date might be possible next year, e.g. the second Saturday in November. Or sometime in January, when nothing much normally happens at all!

Anyway I'm glad that the tradition continues and that you had a good time :-)

Cheers
