Now My computer is full with MB photos. I guess it won't be long before this goes on again with the second brood of blues coming. In the meantime, more skipper news upon a visit to Broomhill on July 8th. One spotted in the evening, then upon return on camp in early morning of July 9th I can confirm the presence of Essex Skipper where there usually is loads of small skippers at this time of the year. Those are still to appear. On the way out the field, another 2 ES climbed up the grass to enjoy the early Sun. Count of ES is 3, large skipper 1, Silver Y 2, marbled white LOADS, 5/6-spot burnet moth 10, many meadow brown, ringlet abundant as well.

Here here. just some screenshots from the photos taken on July 10th in Eastwood Farm / Broomhill.
It is great to get to see a new species every year in this area. Last year some small coppers stayed by and this year we have some silver Y and these Essex Skippers. Cheers!

Before last week off to Italy, I was lucky to meet some skippers. Here are some shots:
July 11th Essex skippers in Calington rd LNR

July 12th Small skippers in Arnos Vale

and a bonus on the Large skipper met on July 1st

Guess that's all folks. Tomorrow I am sending back the camera lent to me by Nikon uk, this means I will probably be focusing on my suitcases for my travel back to France in 2-3 weeks

Been in Paris for 3 days now.
This Thursday was the opportunity to do a walk at the Ecole du Breuil, the gardening school of the city of Paris, with an old friend from Flickr. The place is great, mostly for bees and odonata. So many dragonflies and damselflies. For butterflies and moths: many large whites, few L Maera, decent number of blues by the field around basketball ground, same are had lots of Colias and the best surprise was the hummingbird moth. A beautiful day with great weather. Many comma around the footpaths by the Joinville-le-Pont train station. On the way back from Ecole du Breuil to Champigny, I walked down to visit the part of an island on Marne river. One common blue and many damselflies. A pity the rest of this island is all inhabited.

For now, life matters took me here and I will most certainly come back to the UK. Best if career path takes me there but there is also family and friends there. I am one of those unfortunate Frenchmen that gave a lifetime learning about Britain, then a big BOOM in June 2016 resonated so high that it eventually kicked us out Britain

Anyway, down here, the weather is rainy, hot and very rainy again. We even had a hurricane in the first half of December

I am not quite sure what you meant by habitat
- if humans, we live in regular houses (concrete walls, bricks...)
- if insects, it's the Tropics so there is a wide range of habitat

People are generally welcoming with Europeans and it is a little piece of Europe lost about the Indian Ocean.
Lepidoptera and Odonata fly all year. Nature is generally awesome and the sea is quite warm if you are sick of mosquito bites on the land.
There is not much pollution so you can enjoy the Southern Cross and many constellations on nights without moon. Locals really do not bother with stars but after many years in Britain, stars are one of those things that you long for
