Nice work with the roosting butterflies, Trevor. Sure beats chasing them around in the heat of the day.
Re: Trevor
Mouth watering shot's Trevor, love the Pearl's and great shots of the Small Heath, not managed to see them yet. Goldie
Re: Trevor
DEW FRESH SMALL PEARL. 24/5/ 2019.
Re: Trevor
The benefits of being an early riser, Trevor! Lovely shots of those Small Pearls just waking up. Goodness knows what time I'd have to set my alarm to be there to see them like that...
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Trevor
It's good to be back!. For some reason my laptop wouldn't connect to the net from Thurs until tonight.
With the emergence of the Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary this last week at Park Corner/ Rowland Wood,
and the closeness of this site to my home, it is little wonder that I have spent quite some time there recently.
My visits have mainly been early am or late pm, so most of the images below are of resting SPBF.
Also over the past few days PCH/Rowland Wood has also played host to a strong UKB contingent!, including...……..
Neil Hulme, Gary Norman, James ( B.saurus ), Dave ( millerd ), Katrina, John W, Andrew555. ( Hope I haven't left anyone out! ).
Good to see you all again,
Trevor.

Many thanks, Katrina, Dave, Bugboy & Wurzel.
I've taken so many images over the past few days, and here is another.
I think this one should be titled 'Ole blue eyes' !.
Sorry Frank!.

"Lovely Butterfly shots Trevor especially the the one in your post," Blue Eye's" Goldie
Re: Trevor
Fabulous, Trevor. What is it about butterflies and moisture that captures the attention so much?
Re: Trevor
Many thanks Goldie & David. It's good to have such a rare species in my local area.

Re: Trevor
I am currently in Wiltshire. A visit to ' The hill ' this morning found the
Marsh Fritillaries all but over, only five seen in fairly good conditions.
The prize of the day was this pair of mating Brown Argus.

Re: Trevor
Crickey Trevor that was fast - they've only been out for a couple of weeks there! I suppsoe they were making hay while the sun shone Still the Brown Argus in cop must have made up for the lack of Marshies and Tilshead must be booming by now?!

Re: Trevor
The best of the rest today.
Tilshead performed well early this morning, but photography was hampered by a strong breeze.
This site produced my first Small Blue of the year. Moving on, I later found a fabulous, fresh
' blue ' female Adonis Blue, and my first Large Skipper.
A great day spoilt by the wind, but very productive.

Re: Trevor
More attractive to me is the female Brown Argus. How chocolate brown with orange lunules can present itself in such a striking way remains a mystery.
Re: Trevor
Some rather nice female butterflies there, Trevor. That Small Blue is nearly perfect, the Brown Argus has larger-than-average orange lunules and is quite striking, but that Adonis with unusual amounts of blue takes the prize for me!

Hi Trevor,
Just catching up with all your recent excursions, loads of lovely photos of beautiful butterflies, many of which I don't get locally but always good to see.
Cheers,
Neil.
