Sad news

Post by Lee Hurrell »

It's with sadness that I've just found out about the passing of UKB member Nick Broomer. His wife has shared the news via his Facebook page. He actually passed away in June last year but she didn't have the password to his account.

I used to bump into Nick most years in Purple Emperor season at Chiddingfold Forest and he was always great company and full of butterfly tales. I was always in awe of his photos too, he was very talented.

I will think of him next time I'm in the woods.
To butterfly meadows, chalk downlands and leafy glades; to summers eternal.

That's a great shame. I know he hasn't posted for a while on here but he used to put some good stuff on his diary and his images were excellent.

RIP and condolences to his family.
