Scottish Butterfly ID please

Post by Reader »

I found this Butterfly in Scotland whilst touring around. It was South West of Inverarary near a village called Minard. The exact location seen is marked by the arrow on the map from this link. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=19 ... 98110&lm=0

It was quite high up on a hillside above a forest and on a rubble road near Loch Feorlin. It was about the same size as a small white. Any ideas. Is it a Small White? If it is it was in an area I wasn't expecting to see one.

Hi Reader, this is a female Green Veined White, albeit a rather tatty and faded specimen.
