Fritillary species
Over the weekend i saw my first ever two Fritillary butterflies and would like some help with their identification.The first one i saw early morning posed for me with its wings held open but would not close its wings to allow me a photo.The second one was seen mid afternoon and would not settle with its wings open,so i just managed a closed winged shot through grass.

The underside shot is of a Dark Green Fritillary Argynnis aglaja. The upperside shot is of a Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary Boloria selene. For the record, where were the pictures taken?

Thanks for the identification,I saw them on Sunday 11th June at two different locations in North Wales.Both of these areas were at height over limestone areas,cheers.
