My judgement is possibly impaired by a couple of bottles of Pinot Grigio, but that looks like a glow-worm larva to me.

Denise, that looks like the one we found at Sand Point last month, which was an Oak Eggar moth.

This one was at Portland last weekend and yes it does look similar. It was longer and twice as big around as the one at Sand Point Mike.

I wonder if the one we saw at Sand Point was a third rather than final instar, which would make this one a later specimen. Oak eggars are big moths. According to UK Moths the wingspan can be 2-3"
