Any ideas?

Post by Denise »

My brother took this shot on Monday in St Catherines Valley, feeding on clover. Any ideas what it might be?

yes it's a drinker moth, lot around at the moment, it's a grass feeder and it spins a yellow cocoon among the grass stems

Denise...
That looks like a six-spotted burnet moth cocoon to me.

I found several of these quite close together at Priddy Mineries last Saturday. I wondered what they were?
Thanks Trev.
