Butterfly names - test

Post by Dave McCormick »

I could have made this one a little better, but I created this quiz to see how much people know about butterfly names. There is 16 questions Butterfly Names try it and see. Some of the questions, I was not sure why the answer was what it was.
Cheers all,

I breezed through, thinking I knew everything but then I got just 75%!! :(

I'm not as clever as I thought I was...

thanks. It would have helped if I knew the reasons why for some questions. I will make a better one sometime. Making one at around midnight is not a good idea.

The ones I got wrong were 1, 6, 10 and 12, though I really should have known 10 - it's just so long since I sat down and read an old English butterfly book.

I was surprised by the answer to 1. It was almost the last thing I tried when I was going back to get 100%!! I can now see where the name comes from but I won't say because it might spoil someone else's fun.

Thanks for the game, Dave - very welcome on these grim misty days!

Guy is obviously a lot better at this than me -- I got the same questions wrong but with the added extras of questions 3, 7 and 9.
