Odd Brown Hairstreak larvae behaviour

Post by bugboy »

Visited Bookham this afternoon, amongst other things to check on the BH larvae I found the other day to find it was hanging 'hammock like' under some leaves. Had it been knocked and was waiting for darkness before moving? Looking at the imagies in closer detail there looks to be some pale green 'lumps' on it belly, maybe parasites?

It certainly looks odd to me, Bugboy. You may have hit the nail on the head with your conclusion.
