Masses of them at Ventnor on Saturday though a lot very worn. Must have been 50+. My first visit but they were very easy to find. Some just 50m from the childrens play area in Ventnor itself! Several Ventnor Wall lizards too which was an added bonus!
I saw both these and Marsh Fritillaries in France earlier in the year and they both seemd to be a larger than the ones we get here. Has anyone else noticed this or is my memory just bad?

Butterfly sizes seem to vary by a large amount. I have seen dingy skipper at West Yatton Down and Hazelbury Common, and the ones at Hazelbury are noticeably bigger. These sites are within a few miles of each other.
