Caterpillar

Hi,

I have spent some time trying to identify this caterpillar but not sure what it is. I tought at first that it was the first instar of the drinker but not convinced.... It was found on grass at Whiteford Burrows in March this year...

Looks like an early instar Grass Eggar. The ever helpful http://www.lepiforum.de has a photo (No 7) on its Lasiocampa trifolii page that resembles your cat. An excellent find, by the way.
