Pearl bordered fritillary

Post by MikeMc »

Planning to go to Wyre Forest next weekend are the fritillaries on the wing and any tips for this site would be much appreciated. Thanks Mike Mac.

Hi Mike, just seen your post.

I have been to the Wyre Forest a few times and usually start off from the Dry Mill Lane car park and head off down the track to the meadow through the gate by the seat described by Rosalyn. This track is actually the old railway line and there is another good spot for PBFs further along. There are also a couple of paths off the track which lead down to Dowles Brook and following the path on the other side of the brook towards Coopers Mill will lead you to a couple of meadows which are also good. Last year I spent a day just wandering around the paths to the north of Dowles Brook and found PBFs in a number of spots scattered about the area so there is a chance you can find them in any suitable looking clearing or meadow.

Good luck,

Neil
