Sunday Post - Scotland butterfly invasion

Post by Dave McCormick »

Read this in the sunday post(was a bit more than this, so I only posted a bit of it):
Scotland is on the brink of an airborne invasion by a conucopia of foreign butterflies

Among the anticipated first time visitors is the grenanium bronze, a small dark-brown butterfly more commonly found around the mediterranian.
Dr Martian Warren from Butterfly conservation said:

"For example, the mountain ringlet found at high altitude, could be thretened by climate change. There is evidence it's incresingly retreating up mountains in search of cooler climates. The worry is that they're pushed so high they'll lose their habitat completly."
Cheers all,

It would be devistating to lose the Mountain Ringlet altogether, but getting the Geranium Bronze would be a little compensation.
