Spotted this comma today at the local reserve. It didn't last long before diving back into cover as it was still quite cold despite the sunshine. Not a brilliant shot as it was quite high in the ivy around a tree, but it was nice to see and snap my first of the year.

Found another on Friday. I had the 400mm Sigma attached for birds but it'll focus close enough for larger butterflies with a bit of cropping:

Scottish Comma , April 02.....about the same time as last year give or take a few days....very chuffed to see them again ....great snaps Eccles....400mm for Butterflies ....radical dude :D CHEERS IAC
