A Meadow Brown doesn't have two spots like this one does it Micheljf. That's what made me think it was a Scotch Argus.
When zoomed in you can see the other spot . Thank you anyway, I'm still in doubt about it . Goldie M :(

Just my luck Lee. I have a definate picture of a Chalk Hill with wings folded. I followed it with it's wings open until it settled, I was thrown though when two came along and got together, one was a much stronger yellow than the one I'd just taken a picture of, so I thought ah! I have Irish in me Pete, how did you guess Ha! Ha! I can't seem to get away from Common Blues though. I did however get my picture of a Chalk-Hill Blue, so I can't moan, second time lucky Goldie M :lol:

Blue Butterfly

I took this picture from a distance at the WC Dover. Since I've never seen an Adonis, I'm wondering if this is one! Can anyone help ID it ? I know about the black line going through the wing, this looks like it does, yet I'm not convinced.

Large Heaths can be found at Meat Hop Moss, Grid Ref. SD 445815. I was there in the Lakes for a weekend. Didn't see any myself but spoke to two men who had filmed them. Hope this helps you Goldie M

Is this first one a Pearl Bord Frit or a Small Pearl Bord Frit?
Is the 2nd picture a High Brown Frit?
