Re: Uknown caterpillar and pupa - help with ID please

Thanks, Pete and Guy! I have initially pondered on the female of Aricia eumedon (Geranium Argus) or Aricia artaxerxes (Mountain Argus). I have given thought to Polyommatus admetus (Anomalous Blue), too, but it would be a rarity. Cupido is excluded with regards to its size. Do you exclude Aricia (eum...

Re: Uknown caterpillar and pupa - help with ID please

Another usable site is here . Zygaena filipendulae is here and a photo of its larva here: http://www.biolib.cz/IMG/GAL/8952.jpg But in this site the English names mismatched: Six-spot Burnet is named "Six-spot Blue" and the names of both Zygaena loti and Zygaena angelicae are assigned as &...

Re: Uknown caterpillar and pupa - help with ID please

Thank you, Misha, it looks so. There is another photo of catepilar of some undetermined species (probably some burnet - Zygaena sp., most probably Zygaena filipendulae). Is it posible to determine it to the species? Here is the checklist of the Czech republic: http://img5.rajce.idnes.cz/d0506/2/2174...

Re: Canon PowerShot A710 vs Canon PowerShot SX200 IS

I have bought Canon PowerShot SX10 IS this spring. It is a compact with 20x zoom (5.0 - 100 mm) objective with function SuperMacro (usable if some buttefly let you bring the camera near to itself because in this mode is the focal distance automatically set to 5.0 mm). Resolution 10 MPixels is import...

Re: Black Flies sucking haemolyph on the burnets

There is a problem that conditions of agroenvironmental donations dictate two mowings in year in term inappropriate for endangered insects - excluding some localities in the White Carpathians where it has given birth to extinction of C. myrmidone on the Czech side of the border. These agri-environme...
