Re: CORNWALL BUTTERFLY & MOTH SOCIETY 2019 FIELDTRIPS/EVENTS.
That's a mouth-watering itinerary, Lee. Should be on the Cornwall Tourism Site in all honesty. Plenty of desirable species to see and I'm sure some beautiful scenery as well. Good luck with it all. Thank you very much for your kind comments David. You would be welcome to attend any event we host of...

Re: Large Tortoiseshell in Cornwall
Hi Allan, Yes I did see that but the locality was not revealed. I would be thrilled to see it maybe later this week as weather is supposed to improve. Still would take some beating driving from Cornwall to Kent & back over the weekend with my family & seeing the Long-tailed blue entirely th...

Re: Large Tortoiseshell in Cornwall
A brilliant sighting/discovery John! I have seen all the resident & common migrants in Britain including L.T.Blue & Monarch but NOT the Large Tortoiseshell so would be delighted to get the chance to see this one or another specimen on British soil if at all possible. All the best.....Lee Sl...

Re: Life Cycles of British and Irish Butterflies
Blimey Pete! This book looks superb & covers all the life stages too which is largely missing from most butterfly books in this day & age! I am sure you will sell many copies. What is the approximate publication price of the book & is there a pre-publication offer too? Finally, is it a ...

Re: Cornwall Butterfly & Moth Society” Butterfly & Moth Field Meetings 2018.
Hi Allan.....Yes I did eventually catch up with you by email. Our Penhale Sands trip on 16th June was superb with 3000-4000 or more Silver-studded blues down in the dunes at Penhale about 1/2 mile from where you park & walk towards St Piran's Cross. They seem to prefer basking in the longer gra...

Re: May 2017
Hello David, You may well have a point David, I have a site near home(mid-Kent) which years ago used to have a fairly large population of Grizzlies ,not unusual to see 30-40+ on the wing during a short visit, sadly like so many other sites the populations have declined ,for whatever reason, but you...

Re: April 2017
A visit to Seaton seafront in south Cornwall yesterday (9th April, 2017 12:20pm - 2-30pm) along the undercliff to the East of the main beach yielded an incredible 14++ Clouded Yellows (!!!) all of which were perfectly fresh and have obviously overwintered as larvae here (!!). Also seen in yesterday...

Re: Decent Compact
Hi Lee. The ads I've seen for the TZ70 all refer to a 12.1MP sensor. I'm surprised if there's a different version with the same model number. As I mentioned before, I have the earlier TZ25 with 12MP sensor, the same as in the FZ200 bridge camera (which I also have). The TZ70 adds an electronic view...

Re: Decent Compact
I recommend you look at both the Lumix and Canon ranges, both of which I have used and obtained good images. I'm surprised you refer to the Lumix ZS50, since this is the USA name - in UK, the same camera is called the TZ70. I have the earlier TZ25, which has the same sensor as the FZ200 bridge came...
