Hi all,

Saw my first sighting of the year last week! :D It was a Red admiral flying past weakly in the VERY strong winds!

Spring has Sprung! Saw 3 Small tortoishell also a Brimstone in Morcombelake today, It felt like heaven! :D

Lots of Crocus and Daffodil flowering now in our area!

Common Blue Black Dot

I remember taking this photo at Powerstock Common in June and have just notest a large black dot on the underwing what could this be and how can it occur?

Geting cooler about 7°C today :( .haven't seen a butterfly for a week now and missing summer already and also planning the next spring trip which will be a trip to Powerstock common to find the Dingy skippers :D

Yesterday me, my brother and dad went to Cerne abbas hill in search for the 2nd brood Adonis blues and the Chalkhill blues. I had lots of success with the AB(saw about 30-40 of them and managed to get one on my finger as it drunk the sweat of it :D ) but no success with the CHB and I have know idea ...

I was happy to see the common blue females laying eggs on the Bird's-foot trefoil(in the graveyard)but I only saw 1 male :? and about 13 females, so do the males disappear before the females? Quite a few weeks ago they mowed all the tall grass down in the graveyard giving host to lots of butterfly s...

Great at the New forest heath yesterday I saw 7 Graylings (as you said Pete) + a mating pair :) plenty of common blues, 1 male Brimstone, 1 Holly blue. :D

I don't think so but maybe some Silver-studded blues but again I don't think so.

I love the new forest!
