Went to Ware Cliffs today saw numerous Small skippers(First in my life) and 4 Marbled whites (first ever) also lots of Medow browns and Ringlets, Fresh Comma and 2 Large whites. Aparently there is a small colony of lulworth skippers at Burton Bradstock has anyone seen them there? Great day! :D Felix

Going to Powerstock common on saturday hoping to see some Marbled whites and mabye even a Silver-washer fritillary, wish me luck. :D

I am jealous that you saw a Wall brown Zonda I would of love to of seen one at Giant's hill. :D

Thank you Guy and Nick for that info it was very interesting.

This week is ment to be a great one here weather wise and I hope to get out on the weekend to go butterfly hunting. :D

There are apparently preety bad storms in south europe have you had it Guy??!!

I was very annoyed yesterday seeing cows grazing in my local field which I usualy see lots of common blues and yesterday I saw not even 1!! :(

Are cows a problem??

One difference I noted was that the bramble was not yet in flower (unlike 2009)

There are a couple flowering here in Lyme Regis!

Today at the undercliff there was no wood whites but some speakled woods. It was a great day out altogether.

Plant ID help

I found this on a walk on the beach where this grassy patch lay and the plant looked familiar and thought it was bird's-foot trefoil but I'm not sure at all.

It grew very low with tiny little leaves.

P.S I not the best photographer :D

Today I went to Ware cliff near Lyme Regis and the undercliff too I was hoping to see some fritilaries( does any one know if there are any common or rare sightings there?) but I didn't see any. :( BUT lots of ladies smock = lots of Orange tips, at least 10 of the males and I even got one on my finge...

1 speckled wood and 1(female) orange tip flying around a small field of ladies smock(I saw the SW when walking to school on a blue bell it looked rather cold and I saw the orange tip on the coach that we went on for a school trip).

6 speckled woods in are garden today even know there is the horrible hazy cloud here today (and we have had it quite alot this week) which blocks out half of the suns heat and light ARHHH!! Has any one esle had it? :?
