Down the approach track at the bottom on the left on thistles, 2 BHs both sexes. Just around the corner to the left, lower branches of small oak tree next to bramble clump, 5 or 6 PHs on lower branches 6ft max. This is a cracking shot Paul, and i've not seen it previously. The only open-winged one i got this season (so far) was right down in the grass, so i'm dead jealous.

They weren't conjoined,,, they parted and went their separate ways, without consumating, so probably a rebuff, or just two males sparring (red deer fashion), as observed by Paul Wetton. I can't tell the sexes apart by the underwings. Its not a great shot, because they took me by surprise, and i neve...
