Made my day, a fresh Marsh Frit. amongst the throng on the lower slopes of Giant's Hill, Cerne Abbas now. Loads of caterpillars still about.

Reports of Dukes seem to be coming in from everywhere,,, except on the 'so called' , 5 star site at Buckland Wood. Hundreds of Marsh Frits reported on lower slopes of Giant's Hill Cerne Abbas yesterday. Up until now this site has been heaving with butterflies, but i don't know how the weather change today will affect the numbers.

Does anybody know Buckland Wood, Somerset? What the terrain is like? (Can't do too hilly). Also where are the DOB hotspots at the site? Grateful for a bit of info.

It could make one feel really inadequate. When someone inevitably looks at you in utter dis-belief, and exclaims, 'What,,,,, never touched an adder'???? I'm on my sixth. Of course there are far more dangerous touch challenges than that, some to be encountered in bus queues.

Managed to borrow a friends aqualung and goggles yesterday. Rented a trout costume from a local fancy dress store, almost drowned, but i got my wild osprey touch ticked. Oh yes!
