Hi, I'm sorry I have no experience with that particular lens :( . I use, and highly reccomend, the Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro. I also use a set of Jessops extention tubes and would advise buying those first as it's cheaper, and you might find that with your 300mm lens that's all you need. It all depends...

When I got back to my car the thermometer said 46°C!

My Nikon shoots RAW and JPG at the same time - on the same card. Mine can do that too. Probably the best thing about the system is that when you've got yourself in position, and are getting some great shots when the card runs out of space, you don't have too do any more than push one button and tur...

And some, (my Canon 1D mark2 N) takes CF and SD cards at the same time. It's really handy..you can shoot RAW and Jpeg at the same time if you want to.

It took ten days for the prediction to come true but my first Painted Lady in the UK ths year was at Lower Test Marshes, Hampshire this morning - a rather faded individual. I live a 15 minute drive from the Rio Guadalorce in Malaga :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/V6GTO/Butterflies/_OBL676...

I don't think it is. The underside of the antenna should be black for Essex, and those are Orange.
On the other hand, the other 3 shots show a diffuse black marginal border. This is a sign for Essex, Small having a well defined border.

All this according to Lafranchis...I'm no expert.

Thanks Pete.

To be honest, I hadn't really contemplated native species...far better to see them in the wild. I was thinking exotics, for photographing, I can't be flying to Thailand, South America or Africa every 5 minutes.

In the countryside there is allways something worth photographing, but I'm heavily into cars as well. Here's a few of my pride and joy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/V6GTO/Noble/MyNoble011.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/V6GTO/Noble/MarbellaHills2comp.jpg http://img.photobucket.c...

Growing your own butterflies

Has anyone here any experience of buying exotic pupae and hatching them out? I was thinking about turning a greenhouse into a mini butterfly farm.
