Re: Large White - Favourite Photo of 2014
I haven't had much luck photographing the Large White over the years. This is my best, taken whilst whilst waiting for the Scarce Tortoiseshell to put in an appearance Norfolk ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Black Hairstreak - Favourite Photo of 2014
On returning from adventures further afield Phil and I were most surprised that no Black Hairstreak had been seen. On 8th June we went to Monks Wood (Cambs) and were delighted to find them. In fact one looked rather tatty and had descended into the grasses, as older ones seem to do. The weather was ...

Re: July 2014
Sunday 27th An early start for us to get to Aston Rowant (North) before everything started to get hyperactive. We arrived around 8am and it was mostly quiet except for a few Meadow Browns. Lots of Chalkhill Blue and a few Marbled White roosting early on but we were searching for Silver-spotted Skipp...

Re: July 2014
Friday evening was lovely and sunny so Phil and I visited Barnack Hills and Holes to look for Chalkhill Blue. Lots of Marbled White still around but past their best. We only managed to locate 2 C Blues but they were reasonably obliging. Chalkhill Blue_0103.jpg Today I was doing transects, as the wea...

Re: July 2014
I was compelled to go back to Fermyn as I missed out on a fungi I wanted to photograph. It was a bit overcast so we headed off to Corby to get a coffee and on the way back found a woodland area (still Fermyn according to the signs) 12 Purple Emperor grounded and not a single 'butterflyer' in sight j...
