Re: Beacon Hill, Warnford, Hants.

Thanks Gruditch,

I hope that is the case. Last year there were no devil's bit scabious or other flowers left standing. I will visit at the end of June and report back!

Beacon Hill, Warnford, Hants.

Does anyone know who manages the grazing regime at this site. A large area is currently fenced off for grazing by a small flock of sheep. Is this the right time of year for this? The rest of the site has a profusion of wild flowers and butterfly life. I am no expert but I am concerned that this graz...

Second Broods

Hi Folks,

Having seen a Dinghy Skipper during the BC walk at Stockbridge Down (Hants.) last Sunday made me wonder if it was a year for unexpected second broods. Are there any more appearing around the country?

Bernwood Forest - a warning!

Just a word of warning - my car was broken into on Saturday 27 June. It was parked on its own in the BBONT car park near to Bernwood Forest. There was nothing on show and nothing in the car apart from an empty rucksack in the boot, which the thieves took.

Purple Emporers

The emporers are out! One pristine male at Bramshott Common car park on Sunday 28 June (an unusual location) and one high over Bentley Station Meadow later in the afternoon.

Austria

Hi,

Does anyone have any information on whether I might expect to see any special Butterflies in Austria at the beginning of June? I am staying in the area near to Lake Neusiedl but will probably venture into the hills and over the Hungarian border.

Thanks.

:)
