Hi Oy,
were the Scotch Argus easy at Arnside, is there a specific place to look for them, I'm hoping to try and get up there again in couple of weeks.
I've only ever checked the 'meadow' area where I have only seen plenty of D G Frits.

We went looking at the local P Hairstreak colony this evening hoping to get one or two down at low-level for photo's but as is typical of this species they were all watched as they fed on the uppermost leaves of the Oak / Ash. Myself and three friends were in Cumbria on Sunday, we visited Gait Barrows and as soon as we started on the Yew Trail had two 'probable' H B Frit on brambles in the sunny open areas of the trail. Hi
we had at least 5 Black Hairstreak in Whitecross Green Wood and 1 Wood White on 17th June. The Hairstreak were feeding on Blackthorn about 100yds from the car park on the right hand side as you walk past the logbook. I think there had been over 10 seen earlier that day.
