Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

It was taken with the Tamron, although I have put my £40 towards a Sigma 105mm Macro lens which I am waiting to try out.

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

Just to say my £40 cashback on my Sony A300 has finally arrived. This is despite Jessops telling me I wouldn't get it because the camera was sold as a bundle with two lens. Thanks to Mike for encouraging me to apply despite this advice! No butterflies in the north yet to try my new camera on but I d...

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

That's interesting that the new leaflet doesn't mention the A300. The one I downloaded from the Jessops site yesterday did! Jessops site today still says there is £40 cash back on the A300. Oh well I shall try ringing Sony tomorrow.

Thanks again for your advice.

Well I've got my form and the Jessops site says the cash back offer has been extended to 31 January 2009. I shall send all the information off and see what happens!

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

Apparently the 'bundle price' already includes the discount. At least that is what Jessops say. I will try ringing Sony and see if that is their view as well!

Re: For Sale, Wants and Exchanges

I have a Fujifilm Finepix S7000 camera for sale due to the purchase of a new DSLR. It comes with a Raynox DCR 150 close up lens and adapter. I will also include a camera case, 4 rechargable batteries and two 512MB xd picture cards. There is also software and a USB cable. Happy to sell for £100. If I...

British Butterflies – an interactive guide

My copy of this software arrived over the Christmas period and I have to say I'm very impressed with it. It was very easy to install and operate (even for a technophobe like me). I have even learn't how to add my own images to the species pages although I have yet to work out how to add more than on...

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

Mike,

Thanks for that information. Unfortunately the Jesspos Christmas discount offer seems to have finished. I now have my new camera and lenses. All I have to do now is learn how to use them!

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

Mike, Thanks for the advice. I currently use a bridge camara so I am quite like the idea of live view. Having looked at a number of options I think I have decided to buy a Sony A300 from Jessops at £430 including the standard lens + a Tamron 70 - 300 mm lens and a memory card. I'm then going to save...

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

Thanks for that advice. I came across a SIGMA 105mm f2.8 EX SON DG Macro priced at £288. I have been quoted £380 for a Sony A350. That would come in close to my £600 target. Is that a combination that would work well together?

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

I am interested in this discussion as I have been considering buying a Sony A350. Again my question would be what is the best Macro lens to buy to use with it for butterfly photography. I'm not particularly interested in photographing birds. I would be happy using the standard lens whivh comes with ...

Arnside Knott and Gait Barrows

I visited Arnside and Gait Barrows today. The weather started overcast but brightend up in the afternoon. At Gait Barrows there was very little to see, one Large Skipper and 3 Speckled Wood. Arnside was better as the temperature had risen. I saw several small Heath and Speckled Wood plus about half ...
