Lathkill Dale

I'm planning a weekend in 2010 around Goyt Valley but wanted to pull in Lathkill at some point. We are there 3rd/4th July but I suspect this may be a tad too early for WL Hairstreak and/or DG Frit. Does anyone have any knowledge of this site that might be able to help? Thanks in advance

Powerstock, Dorset (again)

Many thanks for the help with my earlier post in November but I am getting conflicting information regarding Duke of Burgundy. Can anyone advise if the Powerstock area still supports this butterfly? If not, information on any reliable sites in the area would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Re: Powerstock, Dorset

It is a sad reflection. I will either a) walk from the village or b) get somebody else to take their car !

Powerstock, Dorset

Dear All, A couple of us are planning migrating south next summer for a Dorset weekend to pull in the Portland reserves. However, I have come across a few references about Powerstock Railway, Common etc.. It appears that there are a wealth of species here (considerably more that we get in VC55!!) an...

Re: Caterpillar Question

Hi. Silver Ground Carpet is one of the commoner moths using primrose sp. as a food plant. Larva isn't what I would call grey though. This is the only image I could find

Good Luck !
