Re: Which 'macro lens' advise

I've had the pleasure of owning a 150mm sigma macro for about a year, and despite its slow focus it produces pin-sharp images with my canon 30d body. It also has the advantage of being a pretty decent 150mm telephoto lens at the same time , which does come in handy. I have no experience of other mac...

Anyway, in France I took this , and am not entirely sure what it is http://www.mgnastro.org/gifs/bfly1.jpg ( 1/160 sec@f2.8, ISO ...

Re: To photoshop or not to photoshop ??

Hi everybody, I take two types of imaging , 1. astronomical imaging for astrometric and photometric data , and this is not edited at all - the raw data must not be manipulated, and 2. images for fun i.e. astrophotography , family, butterflies etcetc and because they aren't of scientific interest I h...

canon 500 close-up lens

hello everybody,
Can I have a quick sound off from people about the canon 500 close-up lens please? I have the chance to buy one from a collegue very cheaply but am not sure it is best to save the ££ for my sigma macro.

thanks

tripods/monopods

Hi everybody, ok - I'm now of the distinct opinion that I need a tripod/monopod ( probably a monopod for portability ) for my 30d. Could you kindly give your thoughts on your monopod and its pros & cons & if you won the lottery which one would you choose , not that I have won the lottery but...
