I have just had another gander through my Hamyln Guide, and come up with Boted Eagle as an idea??? Any other ideas would also be appreciated.

Sorry about the non Butt, however I`m sure the like minded of us will appreciate a real quiz! Is this a Griffin Vulture?? Photo taken in the Andalucian area of Spain. Did also have Short Toed Eagle, and Bonellis! Thanks for any interest.

Orange tip? Or White?

I found this resting for the night on a hedgrow. I obviously thought it was an orange tip from the underneath. Just for a second it opened its wings, and showed what I see as a small white inside!!! Can anyone assist in this? Regards

Hi everyone. I am going to Spain in a couple of months and am looking for an all round camera. I use a digital SLR as a rule, but dont want to take the bulk and lenses abroad. I have seen the results of some Bridge cameras and they seem good enough to me. I need something that will be good for scene...

I spotted this fly/wasp or whatever it is on the road. It was flying very low and slow, landing every 10 feet or so. I have tried to find it in my books but havn`t been able to id it. Anyone any ideas what it could be? It was about 15mm long. Regards.

I have posted this before however I can see from these posting that I may get a definitive answer.

Is the attached a Mountain Ringlet???? I am being told by a so called expert, that it isn’t!! Everyone else including the Recorder and myself etc etc think it is. Best regards.

Thanks Pete. Yes I thought it was. I am on my holls in an area that has creatures I have never id`d before. Some I can`t believe I am finding. Ie a mountain ringlet!!! O yes what a holliday. Once again many thanks for the confirmation. Regards

Is this what I think it is??

Can anyone assist, I photographed this butterfly yesterday as the sun was leaving us. It was flying when disturbed by my walking down a grassy path. Its behaviour, size, colour, etc is all correct. I just wonder what others may think before I commit my thoughts on it!!

Thanks very much for that Roger. Now it seems a bit clearer. Thare are always new things to uncover in the natural world, and I suppose that is an added bonus to those with an active interest.
